Be Apart of Lobster Roll History — Maine-ly Sandwiches is going for the world record of longest and largest lobster roll. The previous record was over 61ft. Looking to surpass that by 40ft, the restaurant will conclude the day's festivities with an eating contest, bounce house for children and music at its Kingwood location. Remaining rolls will be sold and the proceeds will benefit Blue Cure Foundation. The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Sip Wine Along the Boardwalk — Take advantage of the cooler weather with the best wines of the Pacific Northwest at the Sip and Stroll Wine Festival on the Kemah Boardwalk. Twenty wineries are featured plus Deschutes and Redhook Breweries will be apart the fun from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $45 (discounts available) and includes drink samples, appetizers and live music.
Partake in a Whiskey Tasting — Watson's House of Ales is hosting a whiskey tasting that will highlight over 20 whiskeys this evening. Brand ambassadors and representatives from Jameson Irish Whiskey, Jack Daniels and Texas-based distilleries such as Yellow Rose and Rebecca Creek will answer questions and offer their expertise on the barrel-aged spirits. Admission is $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Doors open at 4 p.m.
Watch Top Chefs Compete While Supporting a Cause — Monica Pope of Sparrow Bar + Cookshop is hosting The Food Fight Against Cancer, bringing awareness of the disease through cooking while raising funds for the non-profit organization Halo House. Chefs from Triniti, Uchi, Pondicheri, Lillo & Ella and more will make dishes from cancer fighting foods. The event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $130 and can be purchased online.
