Tiki cocktails are trending across the country, and Houston happens to be home to one of the country’s finest spots for a Polynesian-inspired cocktail in Lei Low. But next week, many of the city’s best bars will break out the paper umbrellas and transform into a tiki wonderland.
Starting on October 16, Bamboo On The Bayou will bring a “city-wide, week-long cocktail crawl” that seeks to celebrate some of tiki culture’s most iconic beverages, like the daiquiri and Mai Tai.
The cocktail crawl will shine a light on a specific historic tiki cocktail for each day of the week, each different depending on which bar you hit. On Monday, each bar will serve their take on the Mai Tai, Tuesday will showcase the Jungle Bird, and Wednesday will bring iterations of Planter’s Punch.
Scope out the full list of participating bars below:
- Anvil Bar & Refuge
- Lei Low
- Howie's Tiki
- Under the Volcano
- Double Trouble Caffeine & Cocktails

The week will culminate in a luau-style tiki bonanza called Bamboo Bash hosted at Shoeshine Charley’s Big Top on October 22. The shindig will feature life music, Polynesian decor, food, and (of course) plenty of rum.
You don’t have to purchase tickets to experience the tiki libations at your favorite bars — just belly up and order your daiquiri — but tickets to the the wrap party on October 22 will set you back $15.
