Considering the parade of culinary types that went out of their way to praise Houston this year — Anthony Bourdain and David Chang, anyone? — it’s no surprise that the Food Network’s favorite flame-emblazoned shirt enthusiast is now getting in on the action.
CultureMap reports that Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives host Guy Fieri has touched down in Houston, making stops to film at at area restaurants including Irma’s and Cuchara. Perhaps not surprisingly, Fieri stopped by Kenny & Ziggy’s for a massive sandwich before hitting up Niko Niko’s, Red Lion Pub, and Lankford Grocery the last time he was in town, and now seems to be checking out some of the city’s more hidden gems.
It appears as if Fieri arrived in Houston around January 8, when he sent out a tweet featuring a photo of himself, the show’s crew, and legendary Astros first baseman Jeff Bagwell. Check out the evidence for yourself:
Great to have Jeff Bagwell from the @astros on the set of #DDD in houston pic.twitter.com/0XdSE9A0yX

No word yet on when the Houston-focused episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives will air, but Eater has reached out to Food Network for more details on when it might appear.
