Last night Eater traveled to the other side of Shepherd, home to restaurants and bars like Branch Water Tavern, the BRC and Block 7, for a look at Convivio on Durham. Sister restaurant to ultra-modern Decco, Convivio is chef Oscar Aguilar's first inner-loop attempt at Spanish-style cooking. It's billed as celebrating "natures bounty" - although we think that may actually mean seasonal ingredients. The interior boasts moody oil paintings by Claire Richards, hanging lanterns and a bar and backsplash constructed completely out of old blueberry boxes. [Eaterwire]
