Any type of baked goods, beer and a great cause? You don't have to be Einstein to figure out that the Valentines for Soldiers event is going to kick ass, so much ass, in fact, that it got its own feature in the Houston Chronicle.
It's all happening on MLK day, January 16 at the Saint Arnold Brewery near downtown from 6 - 9 p.m. Come, donate some money ($10) and toiletries for care packages, make a valentine to send to a soldier stationed overseas, buy some baked goods and have a beverage or two. Monetary donations go towards packing and sending said care packages with extra proceeds donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Rebecca Masson, Top Chef Just Desserts cheftestapant and Fluff Bake Bar owner, told the Chronicle, "If I can bake some fluffernutters and cookies and make them smile, I've done my job."
We may even share a cookie with you from the stash we're planning on hoarding when we get there early to help setup.
