After trying and failing to find a buyer for her restaurant, MytiBurger owner Kathy Reynolds-Green closed the restaurant after service last Saturday July 28. The restaurant opened in 1967, and Reynolds-Green purchased it in 1988. MytiBurger's personal service had made it a neighborhood institution, but no one who wanted to preserve the restaurant could source financing. With her husband having recently recovered from a health scale, Reynolds-Green decided the time was right to move on. No word yet on new ownership or what the future holds for the space, but, with Oak Forest in rapid expansion mode, someone must have his or her eye on it.
