RIVER OAKS—First lady, Michelle Obama, is coming to town and if you want to sip a cocktail with her, it's going to cost you a lot of money. The event, a Democratic fundraiser, will be at a house in River Oaks November 1. To attend just the cocktail party, it's a mere $250/person. For the full-on meet and greet, you'll have to shell out $10,000/person and $15,000/couple. What's possibly more surprising - there's actual Democrats living in River Oaks. [UltimateMontrose]

DOWNTOWN—The downtown event "A Night in Market Square" starts tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. There will be live music, a sneak peak at Georgia's Market Downtown, beer from Saint Arnold and Karbach and an "Edible Market" from Kitchen Incubator. [Eaterwire]

MIDTOWN—Free wings and free beer courtesy of the Houston Press and it's all happening next Thursday evening at El Xuco Xicana. First 100 people in the door (starts at 7 p.m.) get wing samples from Xuco, Party Fowl (food truck), Barcadia and the Little Bitty Burger Barn as well as a beer pairing from Saint Arnold. A wing winner will be chosen from crowd votes. [EOW]
