If you're looking for a more "authentic" Halloween experience, you might try to hit up bar or restaurant in or near Market Square Park downtown. A few to try, according to a report from KUHF, are Brewery Tap (located near an old burial vault), La Carafe, where the spirit of an ex-bartender can be seen at times and Spaghetti Warehouse, where there are "dozens of spirits."
