Houston will have a presence when Top Chef Texas airs, but it's a clever marketing tactic rather than inclusion in the actual show. Remember when Eater broke the news that the Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau refused to pay the producers of Top Chef to film in the city? Well, they "will pay to run commercials in 17 episodes of Top Chef" according to the Statesman. Hopefully people watching on DVR won't fast forward through the commercials. [Statesman]
