Fancy print magazine Taste of the South featured a 9-page spread on Houston, fair Houston, for its December/January issue, written by Houston Press food critic Katharine Shilcutt. Our characteristic mix of high and low, Tex-Mex and Vietnamese all get mentioned, plus chefs Hugo Ortega and Philippe Schmidt get shout-outs as well. It's nice to see a little attention thrown the city's way, especially since we're not having much luck elsewhere (ahem, Top Chef Texas). [EOW] --Nikki Metzgar
