GARDEN OAKS — January 29 sounds far away, but tickets to Plonk Beer & Wine Bistro's cocktail pairing dinner with Anvil bartender Chris Frankel will sell out fast and time moves faster now that we're not waiting for the Muppets movie to come out. Each of the five Spanish and Portuguese inspired courses will be paired with drinks that focus on Sherry, Port, and Madeira. Seats are $85 per person. [GreenwayCoffee.com]

ENERGY CORRIDOR — Houston brewery No Label debuted its new Elda Milk Stout today, the first day of winter, and is celebrating with a pint night at Ashford Arms on Friday. Festivities begin at 5pm. [Facebook/No Label Brewing Co.]

RIVER OAKS— One of the most anticipated restaurant openings of the year is taking place on Christmas Eve, when Triniti will host a multi-course dinner with wine pairings. Its "progressive American" cuisine translates to foie gras affogato and cod on leek and smoked marble potato mosaic. Dinner is $95 per person and an additional $45 for wine. [Eaterwire]
