Update: Bernie's Burger Bus Closing Due to Employee Death

As reported earlier, Bernie's Burger Bus is on hiatus. After posting, Eater found the temporary closure was much more somber than simple mechanical problems. Posted on the Bernie's Facebook page today:

Sorry for the Big scare everybody. We are closed Indefinitely but that does [not] mean forever. We will be back SOON just do not have a date. Please keep your thoughts and prayers with us we have lost a dear dear friend and coworker.

According to Culturemap, employee Daniel Pacheco passed away over the weekend from a tragic accident and the bus is closed to allow fellow co-workers time to grieve. Talk of a food truck event raising money for the Pacheco family has already begun.
