Bootsie's in Tomball Closing; Chef Rucker's New Plans

James Beard Award semifinalist and local chef Randy Rucker has announced his critically acclaimed Tomball restaurant, Bootsie's Heritage Cafe, in its current format, is closing at the end of this month. According to Culturemap, Rucker's new venture will be inside the loop in the Museum District at 5219 Caroline St. Bootsie's in Tomball, as it currently stands, will close for a revamp by Rucker's mom, the restaurant's namesake, reopening as a new concept under her direction.

The two-for-one-keep-it-in-the-family announcement is still vague on details, but we do know that current Bootsie's pastry chef Chris Leung is a partner in Rucker's new venture.
