Apparently, eating out a whole lot during the month of August can get you your own article on Culturemap (and a repost on Eater).
Cathi Walsh ended up eating 33 meals during the month of August for Houston Restaurant Weeks and talked to Culturemap about her amazing feat of intestinal fortitude. But some of the most pertinent information from the HRW fan came post-interview (in a comment on the article).
I truly appreciate the intention of the Houston Restaurant Weeks as a fundraiser, but I think four weeks is much too much. I would like to see it be one intense week, and that's it. The hardship on the restaurants is unreasonable. I would like to see many more restaurants participate, but only for that one week.
Walsh also explained to Eater that her dining adventure was a consolation of sorts, after a trip she had planned to Wyoming was cancelled and that the best part about it all was "connecting with friends."
