Scenes from Last Night's Valentines for Soldiers Event

All photos: [EHOU]

Over 350 people from around the city converged on the Saint Arnold Brewing Company's tour hall last night for the Valentines for Soldiers event. Their mission? To drink beer; use construction paper, stickers, glitter, glue sticks and for some who got a little fancypants, lace; buy graciously donated baked goods from individuals and companies; stuff care packages and eat food from food trucks H-Town StrEATS and the Eatsie Boys (who also donated a portion of the sales totals to the effort).

All those lovely handmade Valentines have since been tucked away carefully inside over 75 care packages that will be sent to soldiers stationed overseas, most of the kolaches probably devoured for breakfast this morning and an estimated donation total of $4,000 will be used to send those packages with the remaining funds donated directly to the Wounded Warriors Project. Special thanks to the Saint Arnold bar staff, who generously donated their tips to the cause.
