Opening Alert: Lucille's

New, 2 comments

A "historically significant culinary experience" (other than con?t) is coming soon to the Museum District. Swamplot's tipsters have spotted construction activity at Lucille's, a Southern restaurant at 5512 La Branch. The restaurant's namesake is Lucille Bishop Smith, great grandmother of owners Ben and Chris Williams as well as an important woman in Texas history. Her legacy includes creating the nation's first hot roll mix, establishing one of the first commercial food and technology departments on the college level (at Prairie View A&M) and publishing a cookbook among others.
