A detour for several people craving an early morning (2 a.m.) meal at the 24-hour Mexican restaurant in the Heights, Andy's Cafe, may have saved a man's home and possibly, his life. On their way to the restaurant, the caravan of 10 people spotted a fire on the front porch of Doug Dreher's duplex in the Heights, stopped, "broke out a bedroom window to awaken him," put out the fire with a garden hose, called the fire department "and before Dreher could think what to do next, they were gone - off to Andy's to eat." That's some powerful menudo. [CHRON]
