Saint Arnold One Pot Showdown, By the Numbers

All photos: [EHOU]

This year marked the fifth occurrence of the cooking competition free-for-all known as the Saint Arnold One Pot Showdown, where the rules are vague, the beer is flowing and the food is generally pretty damn good. The idea is to gather up a team, cook a dish under a tent in the brewery's parking lot, in one pot, with at least one of the ingredients being a Saint Arnold beer or root beer. Proceeds from ticket sales and team sign up fees go to this year's charity, Noah's Kitchen, which provides services, food and supplies to Houston's homeless.

By the numbers:
-47 total teams
-4 people per team
-Over $5,000 raised for Noah's Kitchen
-500 tickets sold
-15 judges (including preliminary and final judging)
-1 chili (which placed 3rd)
-2 Thai soups (one by our recent One Year In interviewees, the Eatsie Boys)
-11,280 oz. of Saint Arnold beer or root beer used for cooking
-14,100 sporks used
