Landry's Inc. closed the $131 million deal to acquire Portland-based restaurant chain McCormick & Schmick's on Jan. 4. and has already let go of several executives including co-founder William McCormick. Landry's owner Tilman Fertitta has also closed nine restaurants across the country, although the three Houston locations remain open. Looks like there is a new claimant in town for the title of Texas Hammer. [HBJ]
