Coffeeshop Southside Espresso Opens Today

New, 1 comment

After an almost 18 month planning process, new coffee shop Southside Espresso opens today next to Uchi. As owner Sean Marshall tells Eater, "It's been 15 months and four days since I signed the lease on the space," which means this day has been a long time in the making. While the business hours of 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. every day may seem odd for a coffee shop, they're able to do that because they'll have final approval from TABC to serve beer and wine next week.

For coffee, Marshall does his own roasting under the Fusion Beans brand. The shop will open with three beans but will quickly expand to the full lineup. In terms of beer, there are four taps, 10 small bottles and five large draft bottles that will grow to at least ten quickly. For wine, sommelier Victor Torrijos has curated a list of eights reds, eight whites and four roses by the glass; Marshall elaborates that "We're not gonna carry $5 happy hour wines. We're gonna carry $7 happy hour wines. It's gonna be good wines."
