Uchi Auctions Off Historic Felix Signs

When Uchi came to town, it took over the space that had previously been home to iconic Tex-Mex restaurant Felix Mexican Restaurant from 1961 until 2008. Although Uchi completely transformed the restaurant's interior to fit its modern, Japanese-inspired aesthetic, they preserved the Felix sign. According to a press release issued by Uchi, beginning today, that sign, cut into three pieces, is available on eBay at opening bids of $1,500 for each part. Interested parties may bid on the front, back and sombrero man pieces.

In honor of owner/founder Felix Tijerina's work with LULAC, proceeds from the auction will be donated to that organization's National Scholarship Fund.
