DOWN EASY BREWING — Just in its infancy, this Houston brewery has less than a month on Kickstarter to try and come up with $55,000. The funds they are seeking will go toward licensing and a pilot brewery. For more background, see the June interview with founder Jack Winkler on Lushtastic. [Eaterwire]

SAINT ARNOLD — Limited release Bitter Belgian is now up for grabs around Houston (for a list of bars, click here). The fourth and final release from the Movable Yeast Series, the beer is essentially Elissa IPA that's been brewed with a Belgian Trappist yeast. [Eaterwire]

BUFFALO BAYOU BREWING — Today's lunch launch at the Flying Saucer kicked off the release of Buff Brew's second beer, the Gingerbread Stout, which is now on tap at Hans' Bierhaus, Kahn's Deli and Benjy's on Washington. The whiskey barrel version should be ready come Christmas. [Eaterwire]

REAL ALE — This Blanco brewery's latest Mysterium Verum beer, the Kraken, a Sisyphus barleywine aged for 11 months in American and French oak, is now available at a handful of bars around town. Find it at Flying Saucer, Rudyard's, Poison Girl and Benjy's on Washington. [Twitter]

KARBACH — The men behind Karbach are shaving their heads in the name of fundraising for the fight against cancer through St. Baldrick's Foundation. Donate in the name of good beer and breweries doing good. [Twitter]
