Texas Monthly's annual Where to Eat Now feature highlighting the 10 best new restaurants in the state awarded spots to Houston's own Pondicheri, Philippe and Coppa. Of Coppa's chef Brandi Key, writer Pat Sharpe declares, "If her octopus carpaccio is any indication, she was born to cook classic Italian." She also calls out Philippe's "velvet-and-snakeskin Texotrash vibe," a more appetite building environment there never was, and of Pondicheri, "I could throw a dart at the menu and be happy." 2013: Occupy the Entire Top 10.
