In honor of Black History Month, The Breakfast Klub owner Marcus Davis has teamed up with R&B station Majic 102.1 to narrate a series of vignettes that pay homage to some of Houston's most important African-American leaders. Included in the series are civil rights activist Barbara Jordan, renowned artist John Biggers, musician Archie Bell and tennis champion Zina Garrison. "I'm a believer in power of positivity and feel that prayer, whether religious or not, helps people maintain a mindset that makes good things happen in the community," said Davis. The restaurateur also owns the Reggae Hut and should be given credit for bestowing the city with the most perfect French toast. [Culturemap]
