Sylvia Casares, a name synonymous with enchiladas in Houston and owner of Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen, has been shot and wounded in an alleged case of domestic violence. Eating Our Words reports that Casares "was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is currently in stable condition" after being shot in the stomach Monday night.
