Sylvia Casares, a name synonymous with enchiladas in Houston and owner of Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen, has been shot and wounded in an alleged case of domestic violence. Eating Our Words reports that Casares "was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is currently in stable condition" after being shot in the stomach Monday night. The suspect shooter is Casares' boyfriend, Michael Warren, who was often seen at Sylvia's food truck, No Borders. He is still considered "armed and dangerous" and remains at large.
