SUGAR LAND—This Thursday (tomorrow), at BLU in the 'burbs, there will be some of Houston's finest bartenders competing for a $1,000 prize (sponsored by El Tesoro). How attendees will benefit: guests get to taste the "prized recipes" and eat food from BLU's chef Jett Hurapan. Win, win, win. [Eaterwire]

GALLERIA—For April only, Sullivan's Steakhouse of Houston is offering a special menu item, "Steak & Cake," which is a "four-ounce crabcake and a tender eight-ounce Filet Mignon accompanied by Sullivan's blue cheese iceberg wedge or Caesar salad." Get on it, the month is already half over. [Eaterwire]

MUSEUM DISTRICT—Tales of the Cocktail, a New Orleans booze festival, is making a little side tour to Texas before the big event in NOLA at the end of May. According to a press release, the tour stops at Grand Prize Bar on May 10 and "guests will be treated to Herbsaint cocktails" while festival organizers talk about how cool and awesome Tales of the Cocktail is.
