Francophiles rejoice! A representative from L'Olivier, chef and owner Olivier Ciesielski's new restaurant, tells Eater Houston that the official opening date is tomorrow, Tuesday, April 3, for dinner.
Ciesielski is an alum of Houston fine dining legend, Tony's, but don't expect the menu at his new place, which once housed an adult DVD store (how's that for gentrification?), to overwhelm your bank account.
In an article on 29-95 last week, Ciesielski and co-owner, Mary Clarkson told Greg Morago "they want to create an affordable fine dining experience." And that they will, with no one menu item (save one that's designed to feed two) over $22.
As for what's on that affordable menu: French classics and then some, a raw bar and of course, whatever chef Ciesielski dreams up. He is calling all the shots now, after all.
