What happens when a bunch of former Top Chef Just Desserts cheftestapants get together for the weekend? A shit ton of money—as in almost $20,000—raised for Houston charity, Lucky Dog Rescue. Well, that and a whole bunch of crazy desserts like liquid nitrogen-frozen meringues and some chef-on-chef love. Figuratively of course.
Fans of the show should find it easy to spot TCJD alums Craig Poirier, Carlos Enriquez, Katzie Guy-Hamilton, Amanda Rockman, Megan Ketover and Houston's own Rebecca Masson in this photo taken at the bi-annual Sweet & Savory benefit.
Of course while it was fun to have celebrity chefs in town cooking for the benefit, the food and drink from local industry folks like Uchi Restaurants' director of culinary operations/pastry chef, Philip Speer, Uchi Houston's pastry chef, Monica Glenn, Cyclone Anaya's Jason Gould, Revival Market's Adam Garcia and Ryan Pera, H-Town StrEATS' Matt Opaleski and Jason Hill, Grand Prize Bar's Ryan Rouse and Adrienne Byard and countless volunteers made it over-the-top sweet...and savory.
