Alberto Baffoni, previously of the now shuttered Sapori, reveals that he has become the Executive Chef at Mezzanotte Ristorante Enoteca in Cypress. In a press release, Baffoni states that "the new menu will be even more authentic, with both traditional and contemporary Italian dishes, including fresh, house-made pastas." Owner Gerry Sarmiento adds that he hopes Baffoni will help take Mezzanotte to the next level. Baffoni's work at Sapori earned one star from Alison Cook in 2011; if he brings those chops to his new position, Mezzanotte will be worth the drive to Cypress.
