Proof that people can learn from their mistakes: the 2nd annual Houston Beer Fest on Saturday was an actual success.
Unlike 2011, which had social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook drowning the beer festival in haterade mere hours after it began, the only comments to be found over the weekend were either positive or contained only quaint whining.
Much of this year's improvement had to do with the proper amount of tickets sold versus the amount of space (last year, Eating Our Words reported it was oversold by 8,000 tickets), better overall organization (due to some help from Budweiser distributor, Silver Eagle) and more entrances to cut down on lines and wait times.
Also in sharp contrast to last year, organizers were so prepared they had leftover beer, which was sold to takers for $1 per bottle or can yesterday afternoon.
