Bartenders Alex Gregg and Billy Boyd are turning over their weekly Wednesday night cocktail event to a worthy cause. Beginning tonight at 9 p.m. at Grand Prize's upstairs bar, they are partnering with the Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails (LUPEC) for an event they've dubbed "Broad Appeal" that will raise money to move The Museum of the American Cocktail's collection from its current home in New Orleans to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.

All cocktails will be eight dollars. Thanks to the event's sponsors, four dollars from every cocktail sold will benefit the museum's cause.

Gregg and Alba Huerta, LUPEC president and manager at cocktail mecca Anvil, have chosen a mix of recipes from the museum's cocktail book and adapted some classics of their own to form tonight's menu. In addition, LUPEC members Lainey Collum from Hay Merchant, Yael Vengroff of Fitzgerald's, Sheridan Fay from El Gran Malo, Ornella Ashcraft from Haven, and Lindsay Heffron of Liberty Station have each selected an original recipe to serve at the event.

Classic cocktails, reasonable prices and a worthy cause all add up to a reason to go out this evening.
