Houston Press critic Katharine Shilcutt asks the question of how close to closing time a patron can visit a restaurant and reasonably expect to be seated. In addition to asking other food critics, Shilcutt consulted with Vic & Anthony's chef Carlos Rodriguez and Brasserie 19's Amanda McGraw, both of whom stated that guests can enter until just after closing and still eat. That may not be the case at every restaurant, where hostile looks and hurried service are the norm for late-arriving patrons. [Eating Our Words]
