Downtown steakhouse Strip House has a lockout notice posted to its door. In a statement to 2995, Penny Glazier from Strip House's ownership group said, "We have been in this space for over seven years and we have done everything in our power to negotiate on our lease in good faith. Our goal is to resolve this matter as soon as possible so we can get back to business serving Houston."
However, when asked by CultureMap whether the restaurant would reopen elsewhere in Houston or close altogether, Glazier declined comment. The restaurant's Facebook and twitter pages have also gone missing, which suggests the situation may be permanent. Eater reached out to Strip House's Houston PR firm who referred to Glazier's statement and refused to speculate further on the restaurant's future, except to note that a party to celebrate the restaurant's seventh anniversary is now cancelled.
When combined with Samba Grille closing last Saturday, it seems that the downtown dining scene may not be experiencing the revival that people have been hoping for.
