Local Chefs Sign Cookbooks For Charity; Hubcap Specials; Vinoteca Prix Fixe

GALLERIA— Kiran's will host a book signing and reception for Green Beans and Guacamole this Thursday July 1112 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The book contains over 50 recipes from Houston chefs. In addition to Kiran's chef Kiran Verma, the Rainbow Lodge's Donnette Hansen, Feast's Richard Knight and Mockingbird Bistro's John Sheely will all be in attendance. HEIGHTS— Hubcap Grill owner Ricky Craig announced three special burgers for this week. Tuesday night Hubcap will offer a Pizza Burger topped with marinara sauce, cheese and fried pepperoni. Wednesday sees the return of the Gatlin's BBQ-topped brisket burger and Thursday's special is the Jacked Up Mac-N-Cheese burger topped with Doritos Nacho Cheese Chips. DOWNTOWN— Vinoteca, the casual sibling to Quattro in the Four Seasons downtown, will offer a three course, $39 prix fixe beginning Wednesday July 11. There are two choices for each course, and the choices will change regularly. Initial offerings include caprese salad made with heirloom tomatoes, rotisserie chicken and tiramisu.
