DOWNTOWN— Foodways Texas will host a fundraising event called Low and Slow: An Evening of Smoked Food & Film this Thursday August 9 at the Saint Arnold Brewery. The film in the title refers to short films by Keely Steenson about Texas barbecue traditions. Also, eight local restaurants will serve barbecue-inspired small bites; they are: Down House, Haven, Himalaya, Hugo's, The Grateful Bread, The Pass & Provisions and Revival Market. Tickets are $50 and available here. [Eaterwire]
