Although his plans to open a steakhouse in the Heights have not come to fruition, Killen's Steakhouse chef/owner Ronnie Killen is already moving on to his next project. The restaurant, tentatively named Killen's BBB, will serve barbecue, burgers and beer at the steakhouse's current location. At an invite-only media event, Killen previewed central-Texas style brisket, homemade sausage and pork ribs smoked in a brand-new Klose pit.
Killen has his eye on a new space in Pearland for his steakhouse but isn't willing to commit to a timeline for the move until he signs a lease. Regardless of when it opens, the thought of a chef with Killen's training and skills turning his attention to barbecue means that it will be must try for barbecue fans.
