Greater Houston Restaurant Association president Reggie Coachman responds negatively to the Houston Chronicle's editorial in favor of changing mobile food regulations. In a piece published today, Coachman points out that the number of chef-driven trucks is a small fraction of the 939 Mobile Food Units in Houston and that changing the laws could be harmful to downtown restaurants that pay significant taxes. While his arguments are unlikely to sway food truck fans that support the changes, they have found a home at City Hall, where council members gave MFU Houston a chilly response on Tuesday.
