Pistolero's Taking Over Nabi Space on Westheimer

Shawn Bermudez, the owner of bar/restaurant Royal Oak and a partner in new food trucks Golden Grill and Koagie Hots, announced today that he's begun construction on Pistolero's in the space formerly occupied by Korean-fusion restaurant Nabi. Although not opening until early 2013, Pistolero's will feature "a menu of Latin and Mexican flavors that will delight and pair well with tequila and lime." Crafting the menu will be chef Brandon Shillings, who has experience at Ibiza, Catalan and Benjy's. Shillings will be returning to the kitchen after a stint as the managing partner of Pola Artisans Cheeses. [Eaterwire]
