Pi Pizza, Uchi, Hubbel and Hudson and the Rest of This Week's Reviews

Pi Pizza Truck/Facebook

Alison Cook overcomes her initial skepticism to find she likes the strange combinations at Pi Pizza Truck. "Frankly, I need Pi's Saucy Balls pizza in my life. This remarkable pie, littered with big, tender meatballs and zapped with a pickled cherry pepper spread that lights up the landscape, is one of my favorite pizzas in Houston." [29-95]

Following up on Cook's four star review in July, Houston Press critic Katharine Shilcutt visits Uchi and decides that it is an essential neighborhood restaurant, despite the high prices and intimidating sounding ingredients. "Yes, what Uchi offers is a carefully orchestrated marriage between haute cuisine and high art. And yes, you will come away having eaten one of the best meals of the year, or perhaps your life."
