There is much clutching of pearls in this post about the news that private school St. John's has purchased the land of restaurant/honky tonk Blanco's and will likely tear the property down for new lacrosse fields or some such. Oh, the terrible shame that comes from living in a city that tear downs its "history" in the form of a mediocre bar where rich people pretend to be cowboys. Perhaps author Marene Gustin has forgetten that real estate speculators founded this city. [CultureMap]
