Dining may be typically viewed as a shared experience, but sometimes, whether by choice or circumstance, a person may find herself dining alone. Knowing where to go for a pleasant experience can be difficult. The obvious choice is to hit a bar that serves food, since they're configured in such a way to allow a single diner to sit without attracting too much attention. That doesn't mean bars are the only possibility for a solo diner. Perhaps an eight-course tasting menu is better without the distraction of another person.

Tell us where you like to eat alone. Sound off in the comments or via the tipline. Next week we'll publish a map featuring the best responses.
