Eater DC and National are talking about what the government shutdown means for the food and drink industry. When Congress didn't reach a budget deal and the federal government grinded to halt, everyone on Facebook became insta-political experts and some local restaurants became very generous. After Saint Arnold tweeted that they'd be offering $3 off lunch to furloughed federal employees, Gratifi jumped on board with its own deal: "Federal employees are people too. 20% off (with ID) while your employer d*cks around with the country."
