The Houston Chronicle's Greg Morago reports that Kate McLean will be the new chef at esteemed restaurant Tony's. Tony's Grant Gordon is moving on to open Vallone's, the highly anticipated steakhouse at Gateway Memorial City. This made room for McLean to step in as Tony's first female chef de cuisine. Morago writes: "McLean, 29, is a Houston native. Her culinary career has taken her from slinging burgers at a Colorado resort to a position at Dahlia Lounge in Seattle, to a job at the famed Le Carmes hotel in Provence, France, where she learned haute cuisine skills."
