MAM'S House of Ice Snoballs is joining the group of food trucks turning into brick-and-mortar shops. (And just in time to beat our "cold" winter.) Today on their Facebook page, the shaved ice purveyors wrote:
OK fans it is official!!!! We have signed a lease and have started working on our storefront in the Heights!!!!!! We hope to be open in 4-6 weeks with some new items for the Winter. We'll need all our Fans to come get Snoballs even if there is ice outside too...lol This also means we will be open longer hours, more days and year round.
We can not express how blessed we feel having the support of y'all and this wonderful community.
We hope MAM'S can be part of your lives for generations to come.
We are doing some work on the building but will announce the address soon.
MAM'S House of Ice Snoballs prides itself on offering authentic New Orleans-style sno balls, which means the ice is fluffy and the toppings are rich and creamy. With all of the frozen dessert spots opening up in the Rice Village lately, including SnowBlock and Cloud 10, this should be a welcome addition to the Heights. Plus they'll have the nice folks at Good Dog to help them along in the transition. The food truck scene is known for being a close, supportive community.
