DOWNTOWN— El Big Bad is close to opening, but before it does, owners Lea McKinney and Steve Sharma are inviting you to a special preview tasting engagement. The brains behind El Gran Malo and The Dirt have asked consulting chef Randy Rucker and upcoming permanent chef Ben Rabbani to cook a seven-course tasting menu for curious locals who want to know what to expect. The tasting engagement at this downtown restaurant is this Wednesday (October 23), with two seating times: 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Part of the event is an agave harvesting demonstration by Tequila Herradura's Jose Cortes. Sign up for tickets here, and get more info here. [Eaterwire]
GALVESTON— Tomorrow (October 22), Brews Brothers in Galveston will welcome Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co. for a five-course beer dinner.
