Trenza [Eric Sauseda/Groovehouse]
It's not open yet, but come November 2 Latin-Indian fusion restaurant Trenza will welcome the public to its West Ave. space in Upper Kirby. The owner is Susie Jimenez, a former contestant on the show Food Network Star and the founder of an Aspen-based catering company, who says she's excited to share her "braid" of internationally-influenced fare. And while Jimenez is reluctant to describe her offerings as tapas, she emphasizes that the portions are relatively smaller but rich with intense, spicy flavors. Leading the bar program at Trenza will be former Prohibition bartender Ricardo Guzman, who has already started developing recipes. Here now is a look inside the restaurant.
