Margarita Competition at Cottonwood; Italian Fest

MONTROSE— Just in time for perfect patio weather, tomorrow is the next monthly video night "Video Circus at Brasil" at Café Brasil, presented by The Brandon and curated by Peter Lucas. This month's movie is the Jacques Cousteau piece that inspired Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic. The event is free and Brasil is offering $3 Bombshell Blondes. GARDEN OAKSDeborah Duncan will be hosting a margarita competition at Cottonwood on Thursday night (October 10) at 6 p.m. which will double as a Queso Throwdown between some chefs from Sylvia's and El Gran Malo. It's all to benefit Girls Inc. of Greater Houston.

MONTROSE— The University of Saint Thomas will host the 35th Houston Italian Festival on campus beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday (October 10). The fest will be hosted by the Italian Culture & Community Center and will run through Sunday. Italian bites will be provided by local vendors, celebrity chefs will be on hand to talk food and children will have their share of cultural activities. Check out the fest's site for more info.
