It looks like a Jinya Ramen will be opening a restaurant in Houston. The California-based ramen restaurant chain shows that Houston is next in its national expansion, according to their site. A tipster tells us that the location will most likely be in the Mixx at Midtown at 3201 Louisiana, but Crosspoint Properties has yet to list it. Back in February, Eater New York noted that it "started as Robata Jinya in Tokyo" and has since opened a few locations around the country. (Including that New York City spot at 24 Greenwich Avenue.)

If it all pans out, it will be one of a few dedicated ramen shops in town, since Tiger Den is also an izakaya spot that boasts a robata grill and Ramen Jin should be opening in the coming months. Also, the midtown location would be a major draw to those who can't venture out to the west side of town on a daily basis for a ramen fix. The current Jinya locations serve the traditional tonkotsu as well as a few ramen dishes that are tailored that each particular city. Here's hoping for a Texas-inspired bowl.
