Esteemed sommelier Vanessa Trevino Boyd recently announced on Facebook that she is leaving Philippe Restaurant + Lounge to be the wine director at recently opened restaurant 60 Degrees Mastercrafted. There she will create a wine list to pair with Certified Master Chef Fritz Gitschner's menu —he's the only chef in the city with that admirable distinction. Recently, Boyd sent us a message about her move to the River Oaks restaurant:
I'm thrilled to be able to work with Chef Fritz--I think our programs are going to complement another in exciting and dynamic ways. As for my departure, Chef Philippe welcomed me with open arms after NYC, and I'm very thankful for the 3 years I've spent here.
Boyd told CultureMap earlier today that her menu at 60 Degrees Mastercrafted will be the smallest list she's ever created, and that it will change frequently to maintain a captive audience.
