Members of the Texas Legislature introduced a series of bills today that would change the way breweries and brewpubs are allowed to sell beer. The first would allow breweries to sell beer for on-premises consumption but would still prohibit selling to-go (growlers, etc). The second would allow brewpubs to package beer for off-site retail sales. While these changes aren't everything consumer advocacy group Open the Taps has been pushing for, they do represent the first steps of that process. [Beer, TX]
